out pulled a ford and didn't even know it

Audiophiles, I need some advice.

The whole BCS rating system is screwed up. The University of Hawaii football team just completed a 9-3 season, beating Fresno State and BYU. Both of those teams are in the top 25 and Hawaii is not invited to ANY bowl game. Yesterday's game with BYU was super exciting... . with Hawaii winning 72-45. Hawaii has had over 500 yds passing in each of its last three games and scored total of 176 points... . 52, 52, and 72. Oh well, there is always next year.

No matter what system is in place, somebody is going to say "we got screwed. " That will never go away. I'm a UW Husky, and I think we got screwed! We beat Michigan, WSU and Stanford, and each of those teams are ranked higher than UW. We lost to UCLA when they were good, and to OSU (tough team. ) Now, if the Huskies hadn't sent the practice squad to Miami, where they got their butts kicked (65-7, ouch!) they should be in the top 10.

Who got really screwed by the BCS??? OREGON! Ranked #2 in both polls, with a 10-1 record and they get 4th in the BCS? I think that Oregon should be playing Miami for the National Championship. If not Oregon, then CU. Nebraska should be nowhere near Pasadena on January 3rd. The other injustice of the whole thing? The Rose Bowl is being played on January 3rd!!! New Year's Day or don't play at all... ... ...

Playoff system

I think we need a playoff system. You take the top teams in their conference and match em up. It is the only fair way to do this.

I would agree that that the BCS isn't working. I'm a big Husker fan, (originally from Nebraska), but would agree that they have no business playing for the national championship after their showing at Boulder. Don't know what happened to my Huskers there. Doubt that the Buff's offense was THAT good, or Nebraska's defense that BAD (poor coaching?). I think Oregon has the biggest beef, with only one loss and being their conference champion. It sure makes the point that a playoff is needed! Please remember that it's not Nebraska's fault that the BCS system still has them ranked #2. Hope they show up for the Rose Bowl.

I suspect that at the present time Colorado is the best team in the nation, but unfortunatly we'll never know.

I strongly agree that

1. Oregon should be in the Rose Bowl.

2. Playoff system is the only fair way, but that would

make for a super long season in a rough sport. Too

many guys would get hurt.

BCS

It's too bad that CU took so long to mature as a team this year 'cause they probably are playing the best football of any team right now. That loss to Fresno State cost them dearly.

The BCS gives and takes. Until another system can be implemented, we'll just have to live with the results.

I for one, am hoping that Colorado is undefeated when they roll into Lincoln next November. :)

I agree with all of the above.

I'm a Cougar fan and offer this:

The September 11 tragedy eliminated a number of crucial games, one in particular - WSU v. CU. If Washington State had won it perhaps would have tempered the Cougars early and greatly improved their season. If Colorado had won they would not be overlooked as they are right now. I believe Colorado would have won.

JMHO.

Nevertheless, the system isn't working because these dicsussions are taking place as we speak by the thousands.

Point system

The point system used by the BCS had CU trailing Nebraska by . 05 points. So it bolis down to a three point difference in scores!

I knew that trick field goal against the Longhorns would cost in the long run.

Margin of victory should be eliminated from the BCS system. It encourages teams to run up the score against 3rd rate opponents. Teams like Miami and FSU work their schedules so that they have a couple of real weaklings to play, so they can run up the score to 70+ points. Most west coast teams have more integrity than that. Does it matter if you win by 20 points or 50 points? I don't think so. A win should be win, and a loss should be a loss. It shouldn't matter what the margin of victory is.

Well, I think that BCS can go to he||. There is no fair way to declair a national championchip w/o having a real playoff. But thius would take all spring, and would be a big hassel. So lets just go back to the old way, and put a BIG 10 team in the rose bowl. I dont think we (Purdue) should go this year, we aint got a QB who can keep a drive going, or a team that can have less pentaltes than the yards they move.

We Got Screwed Too!!

Arkansas Razorbacks (7-4) are going to the Cotton Bowl. I was hoping a good team would be playing against Oklahoma.

BTW, I live in Fayetteville, AR!!

Don't feel too bad. Oklahoma beat Texas and they are ranked above them.

As far as the scoring system... . I thought they drop that last year because of the Florida/Miami deal.

Oh well ... their is always next year.

Even though I live in Denver (currently), I'll always be a Sooner fan.
