Cummins 4BTA Emergency Shutdown

4bt electric fan sending unit

Hey Steve thanks for the encouragement. I think you may be right about the air in the lines. I've been messing with it so long that I'm worried about burning up the stater. Maybe I'll get one of my coworkers to drag me around the lot with the forklift for a few minutes at a time. Btw we are also putting a 4b in a Scout II, and my friend has one in his Scout 800. All are built for rockcrawling. I might rebuild the core for a driver Scout . What kind of mileage are you getting? I appreciate everyones help. If you want to take a peak at my project so far go to jayhawktrailers.com go to about jayhawk then click on Erik's rockcrawler.

im not roadworthy yet, no e-brake,yet!

i ran 36volts to my starter for TWO hours, and almost 45seconds continuous at a time. i ran all three batteries down and never burnt the starter up. it was a bad ground, and i was so worried i took the starter to a rebuild shop, and told them my story. they opened it up and said it was FINE! i know that starter is tough!

Thanks for the help. I put on a new lift pump and the filter is almost new. I've had all the return lines cracked open at every injector and fitting and at the back of the pump. Some think it's just air that is not getting out of the system. I've been working the starter very hard, guess I'll wait for a decent weather and get my boss to drag me around with the forklift and see if it'll bleed out .
