I just picked up my new 2500 Ram. The sticker says it is an HO but my son thinks it is not the new 325/600 engine. How can I tell if I have the new 600 engine that I ordered?
I believe that it says Cummins 600 or something like that on the window sticker. Also you could check the data plate on the engine and see if it says 325 or 305 hp.
The window sticker will say Cummins 600, also the valve cover will say 325 hp. Check the build date on the door jam; any trucks built in 2004 will be the 600, and it will have a HUGE catalytic converter.
My 04. 5 was built the 1st week of January. It did not say anything about being a 600 on the window sticker, so don't depend on that to tell if it's a 600.
Thank you for your help, and according to the engine data sticker on the engine cover I indeed do have the 325/600 Cummins engine. Again, thank you so much for putting my mind to rest.
Mine was built first week of March. Engine build date 3-4-04. Window sticker says nothing about 600. Maybe it is only dealer stock that has 600 on it. I ordered mine.
