A new Ace Hardware store opened this week around here. They are having a grand opening with a bunch of classic Model T's, fire trucks, etc. One dude had two really cool commins powered vehicles.

The one in the pic below is powered by an 855 cu-in cummins inline 6 from a Peterbuilt. Engine weights something like 3800 lbs.

This one has a Cummins 4BT, and is all custom built. Axles are Dana 60's. It looks like it's designed to operate in deep water as the intake and exhaust are above the body level. Very nice workmanship.

The buggy in the pictures was designed back in the mid 90's by Sonnie Hodgenner (sp?) called the Scorpion Mk1 originally, he did a couple crate 350 powered versions, then a 4bt, they didn't like the 4bt that much, so they haven't done much with it since I heard. Btw for those interested these are the tube buggies that started the current craze. Sonnie does some really nice work, and seems to be ahead of the game, the Scorpion is airbags and forced articulation, he was playing with coils before they were cool (M38 full dress), built a 70s Dodge into a full military look alike that was powered by a nasty 440 and weighed in at well over 10K, cool looking rig though. He seems to have a Jeep/ Dodge vien from the projects I have seen in the four wheel magazines.

I think that the Monster Garage trike has been modified from the final project on the show. It didn't have that propane tank above the fuel tank, and I think the exhaust has been changed so it's a little better looking. Anyone else see what I'm seeing?

I don't remember the propane tank but the exhaust looks the same to me. I remember Jesse James joking about how it'll point right into car windows.
