97 12 valve.

Q1. Engine Kill solenoid. In general, how is this thing wired up? Have donor wire harness, with relays and wire.

Q2. Throttle sensor. Thing that mounts on the end of the throttle shaft arm, Needed?

Q3. Where does the temp sending unit mount? There are no open holes on my engine, and all coolant orfices filled. I guess I can chase a 97 cummins owner down and get him/her to open the hood, but any help would work.

Project is down to a few more wires and the fuel lines. About ready to fire 'er up.

So far, have answered my own questions.

Have the truck fired up.

Q1. As for the Engine shut-off selenoid, the throttle system requires power at this selenoid to run, the selenoid must be engaged to run. It raises the throttle linkage and reduces pedal effort. Wiring--Of the three wires, one is ground, gray-brown wire, one red wire is power. Since the selenoid takes 12-20 AMPs to activate and hold, the pink chassis wire which normally provided power to the injector pump on the chevy is not quite big enough to support the cummins selenoid. I have used that wire to activate a selenoid, which gets power straight from the batteries. The third wire is a computer sensor wire, which will not be used with my conversion.

Q2. Throttle sensor is not needed with my conversion.

Q3. Temp sensor location. Will just have to find a 96-97 truck and talk to the owner to look under the hood.

BTW: Runs good.

The 3 wires on the fuel shut down solenoid are 1-ground, 2-hot for pull and 3-hot to hold the solenoid. What you want to happen is to energize the Pull only when starting then have an ignition hot Hold it while running.

Water temp on a stock Dodge/Cummins is on the driver side towards the back of the head.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I should have mentioned that I'm using the Starter Solenoid to Pull the Fuel shut down solenoid open and the Ford Fuel Injection Pump solenoid wire to Hold it. The amperage is not very high on the hold side and the factory 15 amp fuse is doing well.
