Greetings All,

While I am replacing the anti-freeze and radiator hoses, I thought it good to replace all the 5/8" hoses as well. My Cummins dealer listed 4 short, right angle, formed hoses for the heater and auto transmission cooler. They are about $24 each for a 4" right angle. NAPA has them for $3.

Cummins says $ilicone coolant lines are factory stock on my engine and unless they are cracked, I don't need to replace them even if they are 8 years old.

Call me confused at this point. What do folks in the real world do with their 8 year old Dodge-Cummins coolant lines?

I have silicone hoses (green) on my 1978 LN9000 Ford with a Big CAM CUMMINS. These hoses are 20??? years old now. I cannot believe it. Poor old truck is 27 years old and has 173,000 miles on it now. As Far as expensive My Rome tractor has a 3408 Cat. engine. The lower radiator hose (3. 5 inches I think) was leaking (only 5 years old gates rubber) so I thought the easiest place was to go the the Cat dealer to find the hose since the main parts jobber in our area has gone belly up after 75 years in business. OVER $400. 00 . they sell it by the inch. I went on down to the rock quarry to see where they get their hose since the big quarry trucks use the same set up and they told me they always got them from the company that went out of business. Then they GAVE me one of their new spares off the shelfsince they are closing too. . :) :) :)
