Cummins Display Panel

I know this is probably obvious to anyone who has removed the cummins panel from the middle of the dashboard, but from a guy who hasn't had to pull it apart yet (and would rather not to answer this question)...



Does anyone know if the middle part of the diesel indicator panel in the middle of the dash is backlit where it says "Cummins Turbo Diesel" ? Dumb question, but it's driving me nuts (obviously, mine doesn't light up, but I don't know if it's supposed to or not).



Proud to have the badge on the dash, and it'd be cool to be able to read it at night...

I've had mine off a number of times although not lately. It does not light so far as I remember. In other words I don't remember a place for a bulb.

The lettering appears to be stenciled over the black plastic. No light passing through there. Ditch the muffler and take the carpet out, you'll be grinning ear to ear, and won't need the reminder on the dash.

Maybe its time I get some help.

amen... well, my truck never came with carpet, just a rubber mat. dont do much for sound absorbsion.

The answer to your question is NO. There is no light where it says CTD.

Too bad... would've been neat... Maybe that'd be something to fabricate (if you could see my truck, you'd know I tend to make what I need... )

I know a guy that does that, pretty scary lookin' unit he has!

He put duals on, made some nice diamond plate flares, flat on the side of the box and welded flare to that piece. Then I got close and saw he screwed them to the side of the box with BIG metal screws! :{
