Cummins European partner: Wartisla/Sulzer 14 cly. 108,920 HP

Some interesting specs on this engine at, http://www.wartsila.com/asp/empty.asp?P=778&A=open:news:item:490&S=1&C=16766

Seems like there is a lot of competition at this level for the biggest motor. MAN Diesel makes one in the 100,000 HP range also. This website has a lot of info. I have a photo of their RTA86C for my screen saver, I will try to get that sent along also.

I had the opportunity to be in the engine bay when one of these Sulzer engines was running and the noise was deafening.

If you like low speed two cycle diesels you would enjoy looking one of these over.

Well, the link doesn't work unless you go to 'marine' then to 'more press releases' and then to the 14 clyinder story with specs.

My new 2002 2500 HO 6sp came in yesterday. going to take a look at it tomorrow with possible delivery Monday. The placing of that order was really hard for me to make a decision on. Been a GM truck owner for years, but just couldn't bring myself to buy their new diesel. I worked on their 53, 71 series and the 6. 5 L and the infamous Toroflows for to many years. I wish them well with the new Duramax but it is 40 big ones out of MY pocket that I can't afford to make a mistake with. Will get my signature going next week after I get the truck. See you down the road!#ad

Welcome aboard. Chevy, Ford Dodge, whatever. I dont care anymore, just as long as its not from Afghanistan. Wartsila is one of our (CAT's) biggest competitors. They pretty much own the BIG diesel market, and there is a ton of money in it.

Good luck with the truck.
