8.3 cummins repower

1992 12v into 2007 2500

MerCruiser had a Marinized 5.9 a few years back coupled to their Bravo drive system I'm not sure how many parts are left on the shelf but I'd start there for the items you need to put an engine together. Cummins Marine also has the parts but not for the stern drive system.
Not around boats much- especially the caliber that would have this power team, but I thought it was an awesome combo. Did they stop making it?

You can buy everything that I mentioned in the last post on the internet

Cummins and MerCruiser had a deal that lasted until 2010 give or take a bit. Cummins was in the process updating their engine line up with VW marine supplying the smaller (under 200hp) engines when MerCruiser backed out. I was going through the interview process when the whole program was killed. The Job I was going for was product support and training of the Service Tec's. A dream Job for this salty sailor. It was at their South Charleston location. The earlier small diesels were supplied by Vm just like our Ecco Diesel products. They suffered from lack of product support. Cummins wanted to not make that mistake again when MerCruiser dropped the Cummins product line.

Holy old thread!!

Cummins doesn't make a reverse rotation engine, that I am aware of. For twins the transmission is where the rotation changes direction.

Yeah I went with a 303 Kodiak jet pump which kept the rotation the same way I don't have twins in my boat I have one and it's a fairly large boat cuz it's 26 ft with a 9-foot beam

Yes I learned this in my marine days. Twin Disc 506’s running opposite swinging 30X30 wheels with Cat 3304 Power. Good times.

There is a guy on the GlasPly Forum that installed a 4BT in a 23' GP. I guess it really moves and is very fuel efficient. He goes by Noluck.
