How Khyber Brand Oil Filters are made

What is PC-12?

Its very interesting video. My son went through the Manufacturing Engineering program at WWU in Bellingham. Around 18 years ago. They were doing research on Hydrogen fuel cells even back then. I remember one of the professor guys telling me he didn't think it would ever really be viable. Might still be a long ways away for us dunno. Clean diesel engines might still be good for a long, long time.

If I was to buy a brand new truck (unlikely at today's prices), I would give very strong consideration to a Ram with a gasoline version of this engine. Preferably in the most 'detuned' version available, for durability reasons.

The expense of emissions equipment in the newer diesels is why I keep my '01 and would entertain gasoline for a future pickup.

I hear that, I got a moden diesel just for the driving experience, TCO overall is much higher, I think it's always been, but I agree it spread even more now a days from a gasser to Diesel.

The current 6.4L gasser is a high reviving engine/towing experience, it's capable and well proven platform, but it lives at around 3500-4000 pulling marginal loads, I don't think they even can be compared due to the vast differences.

I think I could set cruise control at 80 MPH on the Diesel and pull the same load the gasser would struggle with, then the added fuel stops with the gasser on longer rides are plenty, getting fuel with a gasser and a longer trailer is a struggle at times. The don't always have access for long set ups.

Transmission Ratios I think are similar and final drive ratios offer a few that the diesels dont.

It has its own issues for sure, there are some know upper end valve train issues floating around out there.

No free lunch for sure. But for local driving and smaller trailer loads the gasser is a great option at times.

Should this engine (in the photos below) ever end up in the 2500 - 3500 trucks, they would sell. Finally, a gasoline engine with high engine torque at low engine rpm! The factory engine torque in this engine well exceeds the factory engine torque in my 2002 engine. It even exceeds my mild tune. I could live with that.

If it wasn't for bureaucracy hassles, I imagine there would eventually be a retrofit kit for older engines. Maybe not back to the 5.9L, but at least to the first DEF-equipped model year.

But if you could ditch the CP3/4 or VP44, I wonder what cool devices we could put there?
