Yes, strange as it sounds, someone has stuffed a 24v into a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo.

That is just way too cool!! Me and a buddy were thinking about doing something like this several years ago, seeing as how you have enough room for almost 2 small blocks lengthwise, we were a bit worried about height, but apparently its not that much of an issue.

I had a Lincoln Continental for a while. Could've almost stuck a BC 855 under the hood. Would've needed a tall body lift. LOL Otherwise, a LOT of room under the hood.

I imagine that thing gets some stares, after they hear it. Boy, drop a Smarty load into that thing, and lay down the smoke. James Bond, eat your heart out. Imagine getting 30 MPGs in a 1970s muscle car. Gimme a Charger, LOL.

That car would be F'n brutal w/ 1000+ft. lbs. I would be getting a Dana 60 under that car and gettin after the throttle hard. That would be soooo much fun. I've got a 71 Fury III that me and a friend of mine have been pondering a diesel swap in for a while now. Could be the next big thing here in the near future w/ medium duty pickup diesels making well over 800hp. That Monte and the Cummins can't weigh but 4000-4500 pounds. With big diesel power you would easily be in the nines!

I've been emailing the guy for about a month asking several questions about how he did it. The only thing he told me that he had to make was the engine mounts and it wasn't really that hard, as I also have a '66 Olds with the same chassis and it got my attention.

Actually the car sits level, I saw it at the annual Easter car show @ Forest Park (St. Louis), the owner's a decent fella and let me crawl all over it. I thought it had a 10 bolt in it. Said he wasn't having any bit parts suffering vibration damage... yet, and that he really hadn't got on it. It's very strange to hear it idle while your looking at it.
