Went to the local Cummins dealer for another load of filters. The guy at the counter explained the dealerships in WI, IL, IA, MN, MI and the Dakotas are all part of some "collective".



Prices on LF 3894 went from $8 to $12 and LF1264 from $14 tp $20:--) Collective my @#&



Talk about buying power - it still hurts to sit down. All Mr. Wallet can do is whimper:{

Sounds more like "Price fixing" to me:-{} #@$%!

I don't know which filter you got, but for the basic fleetguard oil filter for my truck, it was under 4 bucks.
CC, the 3894 is the Stratopore filter. Suppose to filter better and is reccomended when synthetic oils are used. Though the type of oil shouldn't matter. :)
