I have a 16 3500 but I'm changing the water pump in my 02 so thought I may get more viewers here.
Genos has both pumps but the Gates is $40 and the Cummins is $130. Is it worth $90 for the Cummins?
Truck is 02 3500 with 49k mi and I have the radiator out to clean and I'm replacing all belts, hoses, thermostat and tensioner pulley so thought I may as well do the pump now since its torn apart.
Also, for about $40 more than just the pulley I can get the entire tensioner assembly. Would it be worth it to have a new assembly?

Thanks Zetatre
I just got off the phone with Genos and she told me about the comparison.
They said to save the money and get the Gates.

I've used them both and both have failed the same way. Guess you can say that the quality is the same. The pump that has lasted the longest was the Car Quest house brand. Too bad they are out of business......

I have a NOS Cummins original on the shelf in the garage for whenever needed.
Got it off fleabay for $45 shipped.
You have to look before you actually need it.:)

BTW @ 49K miles...a.re you sure you need one?

Mine has had a VERY minor weep for about 7-8 years now. In the last 10 or so years, it's gone maybe 13K miles...
I flush my system annually,(Wayyy overkill) I cant see any loss between flushes, it's THAT small.
One of these years I may do it just so I dont have to do it on the side of a road somewhere when it's 100 degrees out.

Oh FWIW all my hoses with the exception of the heater lines are original.
I replaced my tensioner pully a long time ago with a steel one. Recently the relatively new serp belt has been squeaking. The orig tensioner was replaced (Gates from Geno's) and a new belt & all is good again.
