It took them How Long??????? I just did it in a minute.

Both oversize head gaskets are listed right below the regular head gasket within the cylinder head group.

Wow... ... .

Did you give them an engine serial number to use or were they doing it without one to go by????

Mike. :)

I think you mean +0. 010 and +0. 020 :)

Are these for 12v or 24V. . . I don't think they're interchangeable (if I remember right)?

Unless you're building a 24V motor for twins you'd probably want to stay with the stock thickness on a SO 24v, since they are already 16. 3:1 compression ratio and even the . 010 would likely drop it down to 15. something.

12 Valve or 24 Valve, same, same.

I have the Parts Topic regarding the head gaskets, shows old and new part numbers, notches to identify thickness, etc. but cannot get it into a form that will upload. Talk about frustrating.....

If anyone wants a copy please e-mail me at -- email address removed -- and I will attach it to the return e-mail.

I notice on my home laptop the pages are blurry, on my work laptop they were perfectly clear.

Right click the pages, choose either "print picture" to print them off or "save picture as" and send them into a folder in "my pictures", then they clear right up.

May be a handy quick reference for you motor guys.

These are 12 valve gaskets. The water ports at the exhaust side of the 24 valve head won't seal with these gaskets. The correct 24 valve gasket has more material at the exhaust side.

If Joe Donnelly says it is so, then it is as far as I'm concerned... .

I will backtrack today and see where I went wrong. That means the OP got an incorrect answer from Cummins when he called if he was working with a 24 Valve as the thicker head gasket part numbers he was given and that I found the bulletin for are 12 Valve only.

Will dig into it at lunch time and find out how I got on the wrong trail.

Will also dig up part numbers for thicker head gaskets on a 24 Valve if they exist.

Mike.
