Winter's Coming On!

To Women From Men Who Have Had Enough:

I am a fairly new member, and only a one-time poster so far. But I have to say this, TDR and all of its members have been a great source of information.

Thanks TDR and Members. But on to my short story, I think a few might find some humor in it.

I just had to tell someone this..... Today while driving along Route 3 in Northern New Jersey, I ran across a Cummins Service Van from this areas Cummins distributor, CUMMINS METROPOWER, INC. in Newark,NJ.

I closed in on it from behind, I imedataly notice a 3" tailpipe, "could it be Cummins powered" even though it was Ford E250 van. So I figured could it be, hum... A Cummins Powered Ford van, COOL. Let me pull up next to it at speed, to hear that joyful Cummins sound.

Well my hopes were dashed when behold...

POWER CHOKE INSTALLED!!!!!!

What’s up with that!!!!

Just had to tell someone.

...reality viciously smacks yet another Dieselhead...

You can get a 'stroked E-van from "brand F", but no Cummins in a B-van from Dodge... . the 5. 9B may actually be too long to fit into a typical van's "doghouse", anyway, although a 3. 9B 4-banger would... . maybe if the Cummins shop drives that Navistar long enough, they'll wear it out and re-power it with a BOMBed 3. 9. (and potentially STILL beat the stock 'Stroke's torque and HP :D )

Not that it's an issue at all, but I think you could, for a few model years, order a GMC/Chevy van w/ a 6. 2 or 6. 5... maybe in a couple more years the (insert sarcasm here  ) AWE INSPIRING, state of the Art/ envy of the Science, be-all/end-all (drum roll and echo-button on the mike, please) DURAMAX-max-ax-ax ax... . in a GM van, but I think I'd not hold my breath----rm
