Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

95 chevy transfer case and 97-01 dodge transfer case?

PRIME MOVER finally located!!!

TDR member 'jleonard' has a son who did a non-intercooled VE-pump B5. 9 in a '94+ body vintage 2WD S10 pickup - do a search.

It has appeared at one or two 'coffee nights' in CT down in Derby at Mark's (TorqueThis on the TDR) shop.

Beers,

Matt

No - you might be thinking of the guy from PA ("6BT-Dakota" ?) that has a newer body style jacked up 4x4 Dakota with a straight axle under the front end.

Jay's son's truck is a lighter blue 2wd S10 - VE44, B5. 9, non-intercooled, Getrag, MAJOR firewall mods, etc. From what I've heard, it goes like white on rice even with darn near OEM HP/torque levels...

Beers,

Matt

It'll wrap the rear end up against the frame/bed when he hits the go pedal. :-laf I ***think*** there may be a picture of it in the 2006 Coffee night thread in the Northeast section.

I've got a '98 S-10 2x4 that I've been thinking about trying the conversion on. I'll be following any updates/tricks you all come up with. :)

Matt, that's who I was thinking of! Thanks for the beers! :-laf

Yes my son Mike crammed an 89 Cummins into a 95 2wd S-10.

Like Matt said, some heavy cutting on the firewall, but all repairable afterward. We did manage to install the POD injectors after the engine was set in place, but hopefully the rear 2 valve covers will never have to be removed. :-laf

He used some "universal" engine mounts and made up some plates to accomodate them. Cooling was accomplished by having a custom radiator made to fit under the front rad support bars, the he mounted a dual electric fan pushing air past the radiator.

There was barely enough room for a U shaped intake tube and a tiny K&N filter.

He never touched the front suspension... instead he removed one rear leaf to match the height.

He has not driven it very much... or finished it (too many porojects)... driveshaft and rear axle are still S-10, plus the brakes are really weak... he had to remove one of the two diaphram pods in order to fit the engine.

Pictures of JLeonard's son's truck taken in Derby, CT by ToolManTimTaylor...

(I added the Cummins logo to the one pic because the forum SW wouldn't let me post that pic because I already posted it in another thread... blah. )

On edit: Here's the old thread - link
