Cummins stock price and Fleetguard fuel filter availability

What's with Cummins' stock price (CMI)?



Looked at it the other day, more curious than anything, and it's performed great over the last few years.



I don't own any of their stock, but I wish I would have bought some 3-4 years ago.



A different issue, what's with low-to-no availability of the fuel filter for a '96 12 valve? Seems like 'backorder' has been the word for the last 4 months.

I've been watching the Cummins stock price myself. I suspect that higher oil prices are hurting all of the transportation stocks. Have been waiting for a pull back to buy some. Jim Cramer mentioned on his show that Cummins can't build enough engines for Chinese market. They need a million Class 8 trucks this year. Also the clean up in Japan will create a huge demand for Cummins generators. Cramer isn't always right, but he owns the stock. I did buy some Kubota stock on the assumption they will benefit from the Japanese rebuilding. With the Middle East in turmoil, stock prices will be volatile for some time. Cummins has a great CEO and should do extremely well in the long term.
Have you checked with Genos about the filter issue? I always buy their combo packs, so I haven't needed any for a while.

Well it was at $104. 54 closing price on Friday. I have just over 141 shares with a total gain of 311% based on Fridays price. A few years ago they did two 2 for 1 splites in one year. Cummins has been my best preforming stock since I started buy stocks in 2003.
