I seen them at Cummins NW. They are selling them for 2. 50. If you filled out the survey you will probably get one just takes 8-10 weeks;) or more... . I would of bought one but dodge already covered up the back of my truck with enough badges.

Reply from Cummins on my e-mail

Thanks for your Email message.

Larry, we do not have a ship date on the plates but if you have sent in the form you will be getting a plate. One would think you would get your plate just after filling out the form but it may be at the end of the program be fore the plates ship. Sorry we can not tell you when it will ship.

Please let us know if you have other questions and if away from your computer or have a time-critical request that needs more urgent attention, feel free to call us toll-free (from North America) at 1-800-DIESELS (343-7357). Customers may also call Cummins switchboard 1-812-377-5000 (worldwide toll call) and ask for the 800-DIESELS Call Center for assistance.

I got the above e-mail from Cummins power master yesterday after I had written them a couple of requests for information. What's that quote from Cool Hand Luke, "seems we have a failure to communicate here", or perhaps the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. But anyway, seems like we might be getting the cab plates someday!!!

Now I'm wondering what VOC means. . Anyone want to take a guess? My guess is that it mean "Voice Of Consumer" or "Vote of Customer", customer meaning use the end user. [/B][/QUOTE]

How about "Venerable Old Cummins"?

VOC

JOSPARKZ, I believe you almost had it, VOC stands for "Voice of the Customer". It's part of the "new" business philosophy, thinking outside the box, identifying our customer's needs and wants, etc. etc. Kind of a feel good, touchy, feely approach to business. I'm sure that Cummins also had a survey about how the employees felt about making diesel engines, they would have labeled that VOE, for "Voice of the Employee". There are several "voices" that you have to listen to. I've sat through hours of this stuff!

Well, it kind of looks to me that they are wanting to know if we would have bought these "dough-savers" if they hadn't have had a Cummins in them.

I told them the truth, it was the only reason I bought it. :D

survey

Some of you may not have been alerted by your ISP that the Cummins survey site was not secure, after completing the required fields. When I received that notification the entire survey went in the exact same place I throw the Ford advertizements.

So you posters who did send in ALL your info will probably be receiving "pop ups" offering propeller alignments from Ginny real soon!!! Hope your personal info wasn't sold to the highest bidder!

FITASC ( Shotgun competition format-- not a Cummins/ Dodge part) :--)

Just so you're aware, submitting to a secure site does nothing to guarantee that the company isn't selling your information. All it does is minorly encrypt your information so it's not quite as easy to intercept and use while you're submitting it. Whether or not Cummins is selling your information will be up to them, and MAY be mentioned somewhere on their web, but probably not.

------- Here is Cummins's Privacy Policy straight from their website -----

Cummins values your privacy. We will not resell any of your information. We may use cookies to determine your usage of the web-site. We will use the information you give us to help us provide better products and service. We may disclose, process, transmit or re-use the information within our Cummins group of companies and our distributors to provide better customer support. We may contact you from time to time regarding special offers, promotion, new product information and services.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An insecure site like the Cummins's one is probably not a high enough traffic site to even draw attention. And even so, what information was the site asking for that isn't easy to find in the phone book, or by doing a Google search of your name?

And "pop ups" wont just start happening because you submitted info to an insecure site. Pop-ups happen when you go to a site that has them in their code, or is advertising for a company that has them in their ad..... Or worst case you've gone to a site that has installed ad software/spyware on your machine I. e. Gator, Malware, etc..... But just submitting a bit of info to Cummins will not install spyware, or start randomly popping up ads, or even end the world, it will just give them some information about you and your truck habits, and HOPEFULLY get you a dash plaque...

Cummins in 2007 or not?

I just completed the survey.

Little doubt in my mind they are researching the need to keep the Cummins engine in their product after 2007. I told them like it is. No Cummins, no customer named... Mojave Joe :D

I filed it out 3 weeks ago. I received a free 2004 Dodge 3500 truck. It has the free Cummins dash plate with my name engraved on it custom molded into the dash.

The check is in the mail boys.
