i drove her to california from kentucky in May with the old 6. 2 and drove her home from california to kentucky in august with the 5. 9. i havent had one problem or complaint. i'm averaging about 16mpg right now but a different controller for the Allison should increase that. she needs a better intake and some exhaust on her soon.

Lemme know whatcha'll think...

Looks great Did you box the frame ? My 88 is not boxed.

Is that the KW ac mount ?

You spent few bucks more than i did .

Wow Who knew hot chicks were into engine swaps cool :)

Yes the frame is fully boxed. We did that when the entire cab was pulled back to add the body lift. The mounts to the radiator cac intercooler are from a dodge pickup actually. we just made the front part of a dodge fit to the frame on my burb.

Yes i need to move the gauge. i am going to do that when i get my custom made dash and gauge panel finished and get all new gauges and instrument stuff... soon!

thanks for the compliments. i absolutely love this truck!!!

There was a vehicle and an engine in those pictures? Guess I better look again got a little sidetracked I guess.

well thanks for all the compliments. it has been awesome and a very rewarding experience. from getting her in north carolina with 4 different size tires and more fuel running out the lines than i could keep in her to driven her to cali from kentucky w a dying 6. 2L in her to driving her home from cali with the big C in her... its been awesome. My friend was in her just the other night and i punched her and he was like "good gawd, this is a big son of a buck to get up and run that fast... she scoots" i was justa chuckling. shes about 7600 lbs with half tank and me sitting in her... but when you punch her you can feel the body raise up a bit on the springs. i cant wait until i start modifying her... but that will come in time, its time for the interior to be done and a fresh paint job...

thanks ya'll

Nice bit of work... Your girl looks like a German Shep / Mastiff cross ? that dimple has a strong gene

Shes actually pure bred Old English Mastiff. shes a bit small, becuase she was the runt of the litter, but she looks identical to her brothers and sisters.

Thanks for the truck compliments...

wow... great job. keep us posted as you put the shine on that monster.

by the way... where in CA was the work done if you don't mind sharing?

The swap work was done at a friends shop, Cummins West, in Fresno. The rest of the work was done in my barn for the most part, lol.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Update: new steering column being put in, custom dash with all new gauges in the process of being hooked up, steel roof rack being welded and finished-waiting linex, exhaust and intake are first on the list when warmer weather hits

Nice swap! I will always have a soft spot for the 'Burb - my first car was a '79 Granny Gear 'Burb 2X... . I sure do miss her (sniff).....

I would like to know about your A/C compressor mount - since I am currently working on a similar swap and have no intention of notching the frame. Do you possibly have a few part #'s for things like the mounting bracket and the Serp Belt?

lemme dig through some paper work and i'll see what i can come up with. i'm pretty sure the a/c compressor mount was homemade but i'll double check.

Bernie -

Thanks for the looksee. The mounting bracket looks like a factory piece from the photos - and there are several good shots in album 2 (page 2) that show the belt routing - and there is one where I can almost read the part # off of the belt! Solving this issue has kept me from pressing forward for a bit, mostly because the frame interference with the A/C Comp. in the location that the Dodge app has it. My donor is a 1996 3500 DRW 5Spd, and the A/C still works. I have seen a Medium Duty FL with the Comp mounted high and centered, but it is way too high and has its own drive belt from the crank. The setup you have would be ideal. Simple is good!

Thanks again-

G
