Cummins into 85 Chevy Truck ?

Fit

Bernie -
Thanks for the looksee. The mounting bracket looks like a factory piece from the photos - and there are several good shots in album 2 (page 2) that show the belt routing - and there is one where I can almost read the part # off of the belt! Solving this issue has kept me from pressing forward for a bit, mostly because the frame interference with the A/C Comp. in the location that the Dodge app has it. My donor is a 1996 3500 DRW 5Spd, and the A/C still works. I have seen a Medium Duty FL with the Comp mounted high and centered, but it is way too high and has its own drive belt from the crank. The setup you have would be ideal. Simple is good!
Thanks again-
G

on the work order from Cummins i have the belt part number listed as 25-080760. i do not know if that helps at all...

i am looking further into the bracket because i have about a dozen "brackets" listed on the order. The donor truck we used for a lot of parts is a 2002 2500 w Cummins, if it wasn't custom made it may have come from that truck. I also have part number 15150104 listed as a "bracket" in my parts list, which may be worth exploring. And 15113135 listed as "mount" as well.

Lemme know if any of this helps, if not i'll dig into it a lil more for ya!

I don't know... is it me or does that pup dog look a little worried tied to that bumper? Nope... I'm sure of it, she looks worried. :-laf

Nice build!

Damn I wish I had the energy and the time left in the ole body to do things like this again. When I was a kid I use to build some weird machines like a 1947 studebaker with a lincoln V12, looked factory and I was only 15. Had a vehicle with three transmissions in tandem, don't asked me what kind of transmissions back in those days at $5 apiece who cared. No body and extended frame. Used it as a tractor. I actually did'nt get into diesels until I received my first social sercurity check. So now I have the itch but not the scratch.

Yep, the last couple digits of the belt # match up to the pic..... Thanks! As for the other parts, I will call my Cummins rep here in NY and run those part #'s past him and see what I come up with. I doubt highly that the accessories were configured that way on the donor truck - I do maintenance for a customer of mine on his 2002 Ram 2500, and his setup looks like my donor '96 with the A/C Comp down low on the passenger side.

I appreciate you taking the time to help - I will post my findings once I have done some more research - Thanks again!

The SEARCH continues...

Bernie...

Here is what I can figure so far...

The two part #'s beginning with "15... " are Dodge parts, so they will not be of use to me - whatever was used to reconfigure the accessories was most certianly non-Dodge parts. I also re-examined the 2002 RAM that I maintain for a customer, and your accessories have definately been relocated.

Instead of tasking you with trying to locate and identify part #'s, is it possible that you could acquaint me with your Contact(s) at Cummins West that actually performed the conversion? I am sure that they will be able to help me with the info I need to complete my conversion with a similar setup.

Thanks!

G
