Hello to all,

I'm not sure if this has already been posted.

Cummins has anounced that it will be building high performance diesel engines for the lite duty market. This includes half ton trucks and SUV's. They have now reached an agreement with an auto maker, but those details have not been released yet. It is rumored that it may be DCX. Again, at this point, that is just a rumor.

I think someday the diesel will be the high performance engine of choice. I don't think 95% of people realize just how much power you can get out of one of these things.

I think you are correct. My thought is that in 10 years the diesel will be the engine of choice for a lot of people. What I am impressed with is that these engines can offer up to 30% better fuel economy over their gas counterparts. I think having a half ton truck that gets over 25 MPG would be fantastic!!

Yes, I do believe these are the diesel engines that were seen in the 1500 Rams and Durangos! If I recall correctly, it is to be something like a 5. 6-L V-8 engine!!
