Rode a ferry yesterday, not a very big one, but the Columbia Princess was powered by four Cummins 6B engines :D
They were the non-turbo 12-valve with VE injection pumps. When we pulled onto the boat I heard an oh-so-familiar sound, so I walked over to one of the engines and sure enough, it said "Cummins 6B"

Vaughn

EDIT: can't believe I typoed the title, how embarrassing

That is a sweet sound. Aren't you glad they weren't 4 PowerJokes.

They would NEVER put PowerJokes in something as large as a ferry - way to big to get it on a roll-back to take to the dealership for repair... :-laf:-laf

LOL good one Gary :-laf

I found out the Columbia Princess was built in 1981, I don't know if the B engines were installed on it originally or replaced something else. . . when did the 5. 9 come out?

Dodge first started using them in 89. I'm sure they had been used as an industrial engine long before that however.
