Cup Holder?!?!?!?!?

The cup holder in my 06 is terrible. It is responsible for more spills than it prevents. I want my 03 cup holders back! I know this is a small thing, but it seems to be the worst thing about this truck - except for the fuel mileage. If anybody has any alternate cup holding ideas - let me know.

how about the " cup smoothie" from genos- or don't they make one for 06 trucks

The directions tell you how to shim the latch so the cover works properly.

I did buy my Smoothie from Geno's. Haven't taken the time to shim the latch mechanism. It does work alot better than the smoothie I had on my 96'.

Which cup holders do you have? Floor mounted, or is it still a flip down?

I got the cup smoothie from my bride for XMas. I shimmed the daylights of the latch and still could not get it to latch correctly. I found that the plastic handle of the latch was hitting the contours of the cup smoothie where the latch would be accessible. So I ground down the handle of the latch being careful to follow the contours of the handle. It's about 1/2 the size now but I can shut the lid without a lot of effort. Shimming didn't change the fact that the plastic handle was hitting the smoothie. With all that said, I love this thing! To me, the cup holders in the '03 are a reach. I liked where my '95 were. That's just me but the smoothie is sweet.

I have this same complaint and is thus far the only thing I really don't care for. My 01 cup holder kicked butt. Even held the bigger gatorades with a little squeezing. Get this though, I saw an 06 on ebay that had the pull down cup holder like the older ones. also I noticed on my 06 there is a little square hole where it looks the pull down would latch. I am going to check with my dealer and see if I can swap it out. Even for having a 3rd person sit in the front that console thing is kinda in the way.
