cup smoothie problem

Has anyone installed a cup smoothie on a '01. Mine fits perfectly, but I cannot figure out what to do with the latch, so that it latches.

Actually hate to say this, but the directions tell you to take a pair of pliers and unscrew the latch stud until it latches correctly. Thats' what I did

If it's anything like my '95 you unscrew the post until it latches. It's kind of stiff so it may take a little muscle.

Caution:

I used a set of vice grips and lowered the stud almost enough - it would latch but wouldn't unlatch. Took me about a day of jiggling to get it to unlatch. Just make sure you lower enough.



The cup smootie was one of the best investments I ever made in the truck.

I thought the instructions say to unscrew, which would raise it?

If you unscrew it, it rasies it, compensating for the heigh of the cup smoothie.



Make sure you feel strong that day though b/c it is kinda hard to unscrew.

Yup, unsrew it till the cover will latch just by dropping it. Screw is good hard to turn, won't loosen up! Smoothie is great!
