... just got the TSB today... (after hearing tidbits about its possible release like 9 months ago)-

DC issued TSB # 02-001-01 for '94-'01 BR/BE trucks, 2500 or 3500, (4X4 only!) - it is a TSB talking about new parts release for curb height lowering kits for the rear:

"The curb height lowering package is designed to reduce the rear spring spacer block by 1 7/8" which will lower the rear of the vehicle by several inches providing clearance so that most customers can attach their fifth wheel or goose neck trailer to the trailer hitch turntable.

Packages include installation instructions and all components required to lower the curb height of the vehicle. Once the package has been installed on the vehicle, the vehicle must have the front suspension re-aligned and the headlamps re-adjusted. "

The part #'s I have are:
05066072AA - 2500 series 4x4
05066073AA - 3500 series 4x4

Looks like retail price is $625. 00 (yikes!) but are now available from DC (while supplies last, at that fine price)

Hope this info helps those of you asking about it in the past...

WOW! Al I can say...
Almost! #ad

If you install a 1 7/8" thinner spacer block, the vehicle will be 1 7/8" lower **. I won't get into DC recreating physics although I'm sure there are several on this sight who are witness to it. (Exaust causing pulling, anybody?)

I'm guessing (and expecting for the price) that the kit includes new springs and maybe a Maghytec thrown in for good measure!

** OK, may not exactly. As the angle of the truck changes, more weight will be placed on the rear springs compressing the slightly more than the 1 7/8".

Boy the price for 4 wheel drive just keeps climbing!

LOL.

What about us *** -in the air 2wd's?

Max

Ps. DC, at that price... DON'T BOTHER, AT A 1/4 THAT PRICE DON'T BOTHER EITHER!

Well... . TSB's are just "technical information" and are "not an authorization for repair" ...

Methinks if you cry loud enough about your $40K truck not properly able to load your 5er, then maybe they'll comp it... . all I can say is GOOD LUCK!

My Dad (Jack in Alaska) lowered the back of his 3500 himself, I can not remember how much he cut off the spacers, but I remember that he had to have new shocks (shorter) once he did it. Maybe he will read this and chime in...
