GY has 1/4” tread on these tires to help run cool along with quality rubber for mileage.
I had to use the "warranty" certificates on the GY ST's because they had worn down so much to avoid the pro-rate. Like all things Arizona extreme heat is hard on tires and our road conditions adds to the faster wear. On any tire: LT etc.
They did not design the tread for lots of miles. I agree as most ST's age out before wear out.
Those of us who run a lot of miles, as the OP is, should be looking at a better LT tire.
Good morning all!, some how my question went from the Better Weigh to tires...Ok...
Still waiting for real world experience with it, instead I get some opinions.
I can't see where it won't work with the air ride, calibrate it with and w/o the trailer, no air in the bags, load it with no air in the bags, take a reading, reading and fill them up.
Going to say it one more time:
Wrong Tool For The Job!
Clearly you are overloaded for the tire you are running.
Best I can tell is the Diamonds may be Made In USA tires. Not much info so I am likely wrong and possibly just another knock-off name made to no-quality standards. So benefit of the doubt that you have a good tire. Thus you can keep costing yourself tires, time to change them, etc. and try to make the square peg wrong tool fit a round hole.
OR
You can figure out the weight loaded and solve the tire overloading problem you have. The loading happens at the yard. What are you going to do if they overload you: you need to know there not 10 miles down the road with nowhere to loose the extra weight.
If you are not overloaded then you have some evidence to get a refund and reimbursement for the expenses the failed tires caused you.
Better tires as suggested help with max load, but, no tire will last overloaded at 60 MPH. At least you are not running higher speeds that some attempt and blow tires anyway.
