custom bumper options

I was thinking I could build a front winch bumper that would replace my stock one for a lot less than I could buy a new one. It really doesn't have to look that good as long as it will work.



Does anyone have pics of a bumper they built or any suggestions before I start?

if your gonna go through the trouble why not make it look nice? what did u plane on making ot out of? ie. Tube, plate or pipe how will u cut the steel and what will you use to weld it together?

jc, about how much are those pick-up bars? How much does it weigh? Looks like something I would like to get. I have considered some tough steel bumpers, but they are awful heavy weight-wise.

I was thinking I would make it out of mostly square tubing and some kind of plating for my winch mount.
