I tried to order the specific parts catalog for my S/N motor as shown on page 108 of TDR #28. When I go to the Cummins web site and put in my S/N, it comes back stating it is an invalid number. I called the PowerStore and they couldn't help me.

Could the problem be that the S/N located on the tag near the fan is a DC # and has nothing to do with the Cummins S/N??

I believe (it's dark outside or I would go check) what you are looking for is on drivers side of the engine, all the way forward. Looking at it from the front left fender, it will be just below and forward of the pump. Its a stamped metal label with the Cummins emblem on itand on the newer trucks it is usually obscured by a wiring harness which is easily moved to read the numbers. You'll need a flashlight. The S/N will be an 8 digit number.

Alan, that's where I got the serial number from. I guess a call directly to Cummins is in order.

I may be wrong but try using the CPL number.

Mission accomplished. A call to Cummins did the trick! Apparently they had some problem with their program (whatever that means). It should take about 2 weeks for delivery and costs $55 + shipping. The engine number is the correct one to use. Thanks
