2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission D-70 Simple Part Needed or so I thought . . .

During the installation of the Lock Rite Locker I noticed the left stock Side Gear Thrust Washer was galled, as was the washer to gear surface and washer to axle tube surface.



I had to use the old thrust washer to get back on the road and figured I could ring up the old 5 star for replacement thrust washers and do a quick swap out.



Ah yeah right #@$%!, good ol' 5 star says $480. 00 for complete set of side & pinion gears will get me the thrust washers. Not sold separately. :{



Anyone ever have to get these before? I'm starting with the local big parts warehouse and maybe NAPA - I hate the DB parts guys at my local NAPA "they're too cool for me I guess", anyway any ideas would help.

I have always recommended Unitrax in Anaheim Ca.

They have even made a tool to resurface the thrust surface of the Dana 70 to save the housing.

Hey Guys great leads would either of you have a contact name and phone number.

I found washers thru spicer @ $2. 50 for a pack of 2 each, but need a minimum order of $25. The local Spicer guy is trying to locate elsewhere local for me.
