The aluminum heads are actually a good thing on the Dmax. Very few reported problems. They do a very special job of sucking heat out of th e combustion area. Between that and the higher revs, the Dmax is able to dissipate heat much quicker. That's why they are able to get away with 500 RWHP without a turbo or any engine mods. Never heard of anyone pulling a head off a Dmax for performance mod changes.
But... going over the 500 RWHP mark is another story. Not that most of us care but over that the rotating assy begins to show weakness.
