Well, I was planning on installing a Pac-Brake on my 04. 5 6 sp, after I got a real answer on the cost of the Jake from my dealer. My previous post had the dealer quoting me $750 installed - upon scheduling the appointment I got the "oh by the way, it $1850" :-laf . So, that sent me back to the research mode again. I came across the "D-Celerator" website and list some valid points to the non-turbo mounted exhaust brakes. Is anyone out there using the D-Celerator brake? any input?

I use a D-Celerator and really like it. I use the air operated version as I did not want at solonoid down in the road dirt and when it puts 60 psi on the ram IT WILL CLOSE THE BRAKE PLATE!



I also like the butterfly bypass and the 1 second delay in activation as well as the remote install location. Allows the turbine to spool down a second before the flow is esentially cut off.



Also like the massiveness of the construction. I have a 4" exhaust and the fit was very good. Obviously the exhaust pipe has to be pretty sealed to hold the backpressure properly.



I put in a switch in the knee panel to activate as I could not get the pedal microswitch to be reliable over time. Also I can apply the ebrake when ever I want regardless of the pedal. Ebrake armed on at a stoplight but the switch off. Total control.



I tow a 13k 5er and it sure works for me WELL!

I've got the US gear remote mount e-brake and I wouldn't have it any other way (it's electric). Any time down the road I got to upgrade my turbo :D it's no sweat. Also, you can get different adapters for exhaust sizes so it'll work when you go 5 inch :)
