Well guys I just took the big plunge, they should be here in a few days. Is there anything else that I need to get,i. e. valve cover gasket, injector o-rings,etc. I'm glad I'm in the T. D. R. ,it just saved me $120:) . Also how bad of a job is it? Doug

An SBC clutch to go with the DDII's.....

FFutch,

You may need to get a new clutch when you put in the DDII's. :D SBC is the only way to go if your clutch starts slipping.

Yeah I kinda figure the clutch will be the next "Bomb". I'll try to baby it till I get some more money ahead. Baby it YEAH RIGHT ;) :D Doug

Valve cover gasket not needed. Get a new gasket for the grid heater. It may be stuck and break when you take it apart. Your injectors will come with new o-rings and copper washers on them.

How bad is it? Well, coming from somebody who doesn't do a lot of this, it was about a 2 1/2 hour job and I only barked up one knuckle. Biggest problem was sore muscles next day from crawling over the engine to reach the back two injectors.

As for tools - the only things I didn't already have in the garage were the 19mm crows foot wrench (not absolutely necessary, but I thought worthwhile) and a torque wrench that measures in inch-pounds instead of foot-pounds.

Have fun! You sure will after they're in...

Do you have a boost module and elbow? You will really enjoy the injectors. I drive my truck around alot with my Comp box off. This is where you realize the potential of your truck :D . Sam

Yea I've got the P. E. box and boost elbow in already. I ordered the grid heater gaskets today, they should be in the same time as the injectors. PATIENTLY WAITING ;) . Doug

i guess you just couldn't take it having to follow me home from the cummins show, could ya? that black smoke is addictive!! next time you might be able to stay beside me!!" just kiddin"

let me know how they feel when you get them in. or better yet drive on down here. injectors are next on my list. gotta call bill k and see if his transmission will accept another upgrade.

So then what are you going to step up to? I think that you should hold off on the truck bobms and spend some on RC Planes so I can catch up!!!:D
