Just an update for all of those who are waiting patiently :{ :{ for our "600's" to show up.

Ordered 12/30/03, truck went D1 status on 1/20/04 with an estimated ship date of 2/3/04. Man am I pumped up about this truck!

Any ideas on delivery time from Mexico to South Dakota?

Ordered mine 1/13/04 got D-1 and a vin on 1/16/04. How often do you call DC to get status? I was hoping to have a little time to sell the old car and rat hole down payment money. Not to far from Mex here.

Right now anyway, it seems that shipping time is taking longer than the time from order to build completion. Mine was built on 1/6 in Mex. It will arrive at my dealer on 2/2.

There is a D status and a D1 status. The first step is D where you get your VIN and then when you get to D1 you will also get an estimated ship date.

Went to finish status on January 9th. Still at factory. From what I hear, there is presently a hold in releasing trucks with Cummins because of an exhaust bracket. Hopefully this will not delay arrivals too long.

What all is involved in ordering a new truck? Do you have to come to the table with money or financing? Contracts? Just wondering 'cause I need a little time to sell my current truck...

I ordered my truck 12-18-03. Had to put $500. 00 down, they were not worried nor did they ask abot financing. I also had to sell my truck, sold on 12-31. Guy was looking for a tax right-off, so he needed the truck by the end of the year. Rebate of $2500 when I ordered, dealer says i can take this or whatever rebate is available when truck is delivered, my choice.

I heard from my dealer REP. that all "600s" are on hold because of an exhuast clamp issue,

that sucks, but it is better than all these trucks out and about, and them a big recall...

Yeah MAN! Mine must be an airplane! Ordered 1-03 (after report!) from Big Bob's salesman Butch at Dishman Dodge in Spokane and it is built on 1-09 and on the rail car already! Help! I gotta sell my truck! geusterman

TomeyGun , is this hold on unbuilt trucks? mine went KZ on 1/19 which is released by plant , do you know if it is a part or problem that would affect those trucks already built and on their way? Would like if you could give us more specifics if you can. Did your source know if the hold is expected to last how long? etc. This kind of news gets a lot of us concerned, waiting for our trucks!!!

The impression I got today from Chrylser was the clamp issue might not take too long to get resolved. I was told my truck should leave the factory by the end of this week. The way I look at it, keep it at the factory until it is done!

AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

I new it was going to be too good to be true. Truck delivered in about six weeks, man I am in need of some serious therapy! Anyone in the know please keep us informed on this delay. Special Thanks to TomeyGun for his info! This will be my first diesel so I really don't even know what I am missing out on yet. It must really suck for those of you who had trucks and sold them already!!!!!!!!!!!!

Repeat after me:

It will be worth the wait

It will be worth the wait

It will be worth the wait

It will be worth the wait

It will be worth the wait

Yes it does. Called Chrysler again this morning and got the same old story. I might have to form a Wild Bunch and go to Mexico to rescue my truck.

Lharper,

Who did you talk to at DC. The DC customer service staff I spoke with did not have any information that there was even a problem. I would rather know facts then sit here and wonder. Oh well, the wait continues.

The person I talked to this morning also did not seem to know why there is a delay in releasing built trucks. But the person I talked to yesterday did mention the delay is being caused by an exhaust clamp. That also confirms what a friend at Chrysler told me on Monday. He has never been wrong yet. He told me about the 600 last June. Hopefully things will move along soon. I will post if I hear of anything new.
