I am curious what size turbo i could get away with to daily drive mach 6's, i want 600 hp, i don't tow anything, it's strictly a daily driver and drag racer on the weekends. I was thinking of a silver 64, cam, studs and water/meth for drag racing. i am not sure if this combo would create piston melting temps or if it would be doable. II says the 64 can handle 700HP, how do I get 600 safely? thanks in advance for any info.

A 64 size turbo will not keep 600hp cool. You can make 600hp with it, but it won't be cool. It will do pretty well at 500hp though.

As far as the water/meth and drag racing, in order to get much of a hp gain you need extra air. The meth is a fuel, and needs air to burn.

Though, this is probably not what you want to hear, but IMO the only way to be able to make a lot of passes at the drag strip, at the 600hp level is with twin turbos. I went through a few single turbos before I figured that out. I have over 800 1/4 mile passes on my twins, and have not had a problem with them at all. In the 600 1/4 mile passes before that I went through 3 single turbos (not including the original).

Hope this helps...

You should O-ring if you want to run power like that. I thought I was fooling the gods with my phat shaft 62 running 50 psi with full fuel from the TST3 and mach 4's. I was wrong. When I pulled my head to put the oring head and studs in and found my head gasket was nearly through. And I only ran all the fuel occasionally so 40 psi was all it saw on a regular basis. Do yourself a favor and Oring when you stud. Saves a LOT of headaches later. I spun 494 and 1034 with that setup btw. I am looking into mach 5 or 6 and twins. Maybe an HX35 and Aurora5000. Hunting for the 600 mark too.
