A little entertainment for you.

Saturn SW2 Destroyed

From what I have read, Chrysler had the best computer systems/software for engineering new cars. There time from thought to production was much lower then any other company. Now Daimler has that software. they just proved it with the release of a new platform for MB.

Then I read this:

Making it clear why Chrysler needs to be fixed, it reported Wednesday an operating loss of $1. 5 billion last year, a huge swing from an operating profit of $2 billion in 2005.

DaimlerChrysler's much smaller Mercedes Car Group recorded a profit of $3. 2 billion on operations, a turnaround from a loss on operations of $666 million in 2005.

DaimlerChrysler said its companywide operating profit was $7. 3 billion last year, up from $6. 8 billion and, all told, it had net income last year of $4. 3 billion, up from $3. 8 billion in 2005.

sounds like funny accounting to me. How can little Mercedes increase profit by 4 billion in one year, while Chrysler decreases profit by 3. 5 billion? See the connection? My bets are Mercedes increased by . 5 bil and Chrysler stayed the same.

With the right Mgt, Chrysler could stand alone, as long as Daimler don't stip it of all its tools and assets.
