Damaged NV 5600

My 04 with over 100K on the clock was on the way back to the shop Sat night and developed a bad vibration under load and deaceleration... ...



Pulling the side cover shows it's full of metal so we are in the middle of pulling it out... . This truck works hard all the time often with a trailer in the 15 to 20K range...



Have any of you had problems with the NV5600 and if so what kind of problems have you had... .

Me too, Waiting to hear about the new transmission Before I order mine . In the mean time still driv,n my 6. 9. Its been a great truck for me the past 20 years But its time for an upgrade Hope the Cummins rig is as good.

Did you ever change your fluid?

mine had the same problem but It was the u-joints. so check them out too while u r at it, especially since the u-joints seem to be a common problem.

140K on my first one, 35K so far on this one, with never a problem on either. And that's pulling up to 27K, typically 23-25K (trailer weights). Haven't heard of too many NV5600 failures. Any performance mods on yours?

More information..... no performance upgrades, and yes the fluid has been changed 1 time around 50K and came out clean, we went back with the recommended oil.....



The only thing this truck has seen since the first week is the BD short shift kit... .

Hi Jim, mine went south christmas day just like you described happening to yours. I have only 54,000mi with little towing but I do have a few mods to add some hp. gonna try dealer to see if they will warranty it

7/70 should cover it. Dont' let them see you username though, they might get the wrong (right) impression.
