Got my 2015 ram 2500 4x4 diesel with a 68. 118k on the odometer. Started getting P0871. After doing research on and around the forums most people who had replaced the valve bodies had no more issues. Ordered up a new rev max hd valve body. And there zero state bypass. Installed it today along with both new mopar filters. Topped off the fluid and took it for a spin. Codes are back. Now along with the P0871 im now getting P0868 wich i was not getting before. Also getting a weird shutter when im slowing down at almost a rolling stop. Im about 99 percent sure i installed it right. Instructions left allot to be desired. After researching P0868 it seems most people have succeeded in resolving this after replacing the front pump. Im not really wanting to drop another 500 on top of the 1300 i just spend with out really knowing. Is there a test for either of these codes ? I went kinda cheep and didn't order a new solenoid pack. This truck is just giving more and more issues as the days go. Its getting to the point where im afraid to put a trailer on it and leave out of the driveway. Any thoughts on what im looking at. Thanks.

The 68 can be diagnosed fully with the wiTech from the Dealer, why did you throw parts at it without a real clue (aside from google diagnostics). Please do a proper diagnosis before proceed.

And did you do the MANDATORY and IMPORTANT relearn process with it before you went out on the road?

This transmission is a learning one and it is absolutely important to follow strictly to the factory service manual when works are done on this unit. Otherwise it will self destruct.

Id love to take it to a dealer. It got a sun tan at my dealer since February 13 for almost 3 weeks for the front axle issue. Had to replace the internals inside the front diff. Total on that 3,300.00 and 3 weeks down time with out the truck working. Renting a uhual for 3 weeks to run material to jobs as needed. Was told corona slowed everything down on parts etc. That i do believe. Almost two weeks to the date after picking it up. Service 4 wheel drive system light comes on. Back to the dealer for another almost 600 bucks for actuator. So another 4 days down and luckily no rental this time. Then transmission issues that i got now. I rolled the dice and got bit. But i decided to take the risk. Cant afford 200 dollars each time to diagnose truck, dealer parts and dealer labor rates and a week down time every time plus a rental truck and a crew waiting on material every time i try to ask a 65k investment to pay its way. In the long run im sure it would have been the right way but like i said i took the risk on a 1000 part and it seemed like a risk worth taking at the time. I guess ill take it in and pay the diag to see what's what. I was infact unaware of the relearn being needed. I did not read anything about that or seen that anyone else who replaced the valve body did it. But that is good information to know. Thanks for your help. Hopefully its something that simple.

If you are willing to learn you could dive into the Computer diagnosis yourself by using ALFA OBD. But thats not just reading codes - its diagnostic and that needs time and knowledge.
We have people here at the TDR that are very good with this program.
In the long run it saves a lot of money.
