No... I do not own an 03 up truck... . You may be correct. I do not know ... Reading the factory service manual for the year in question would be in order... .



I do know what the common rail system is . I am not as well versed in the newest fuel system as I should be... . but diesel engines all operate on the same principles..... I expect the reason for the sticker would be because of the higher pressures in the common rail system and the danger of the spraying fuel ..... We need more information...

Anyone else out there know the reason for the sticker... ... Facts only please

Terry, do you own an '03-up truck? If so this is EXTREMELY dangerous... there's even a big sticker on the valve cover telling you not to do this.



Please please please be careful if you're going to crack open common-rail injector lines on a running engine! Better yet, don't do it at all!

You are correct high pressure fuel spray, recommended to check with a piece of cardboard for suspect leakage, also all covers don't have the warning sticker, at least mine don't anymore. Dealership replaced with new cover after they scractched up my original one doing some work, and the new one has no warning sticker to be found.

Never remove a common rail injector line with the engine running. Never.



No harm done, Mysteryman... just don't want 3rd gen owners getting hurt then suing DC!

much less pressure than that is needed to penetrate the skin... shop air pressure is usually between 90psi and 125psi, and there have been deaths with people blowing dust off themselves with air and they get an air bubble through the skin into the blood. .



F=PxA would be what determines if it will break your skin surface.

Here is an odd one, My truck has the knock it seems throughout the RPM range, especially noticable when letting off the throttle and engine braking using the advantage of the 6-speed. It sounds just like a lifter tick. I have never had any drivability issue, I get 20 MPG, no smoke, none of that, just that noise. What do you guys think? I have noticed you guys talking about knocking from like idle-1,200, but not above that. I am going to try and isolate it with a stethoscope. I am going on a 2,000 mile vacation at the end of next week, so I would like to at least figure it out before than. Thanks.
