Trying to find a clear answer on the difference between a 250 and 350 front Dana 60. Do I gather they are the same spindle to spindle, but it is the hub that is the difference? Reading on line has given me unclear answers.

Where I am going is I have a 250 Dana 60F that was originally in the crew cab when I got it. What parts do I need to change to make the 250 a legit 350?

Thanks.

Robert

Thanks Nick but I dont see an actual answer to the question other than a description of the axle and what it is.

Thats what I believe to be accurate too. But was hoping for more a "Yes I have done that and personally confirm it" sort of answer from someone. lol

I got this one Robert, I did this on my truck, the hub and rotor are the only thing that is different, it dosent even matter which type of locker hub you have they all interchange, on my truck i bought a 93 W250 srw axle with the warn style lockers on it but i put 87 DRW hubs with the old selctro style hubs on it and every thing lines up and works fine, the only thing that matters is having the right rotor for the hub style you have.

I will say good luck finding the Dodge DRW hubs, chevy hubs will fit the axle just fine but the wheel flange isnt right, again can speak from first hand expertise, chevy uses a small center bore for their wheels then dodge dose, and they arent coined

You need the SRW hubs, studs and rotors. Spindles, seals, stub shaft, locking hubs and bearings are the same.

Most people are looking to swap the other direction, so you should be able to easily find someone looking to offload DRW hubs for your SRW ones.

More options appear to be available from Torque King.

D-70 Dually hubs or SRW hubs, spendy tho.

Also for D-60 front DRW or SRW.

Exploded view, might help identify pieces and parts.

Are you wanting to build the 250 D-60F axle to a 350 SRW or DRW? I assume DRW because the 250-350 srw is probably the same.

If you are building a 1st gen dually, I would toss the coined wheels. I would think the 2nd gen front dually spacer (hub centric) would fit the 1st gen hub. Then find a 2nd gen dually D70-80 for the rear.

Yes. I have two axles.

Axle 1: A super clean Dana 60F from a W250.
Axle 2: A super rusty but good hubbed Dana 60F from a W350

I want to make axle 1 into a dually axle so I can stick it under the front of a 2wd truck to convert it to 4wd and not have to use the rusty axle. So I wanted to know what parts I needed to move over or if the entire axle was different (like the rears are in width). The wheels wont be factory and the rear is a Dana 80 like my crew cab.

Just did the front axle upgrade from a 99 front axle to a 2002 front axle on my 1999 3500 DRW. I changed the whole axle assembly. You get better brakes ,bigger axles and can use freewheeling hubs. mjCDoenBQQu0aS%5zlgrIQ.jpg 6dy1iBuWSCqCC6Ly+NcWPA.jpg uhGrXFI2RsOISDSdBgqsew.jpg

While your not wrong, things are a little different in 1st gen land, we already have lock out hubs, but most importantly our diffs are on the right side of the truck, not the left like yours so any axle from a 2nd gen or newer can't be used without major work
