I Think My Carrier Is Making Noise On The Left Or Drivers Side Of The Front Diff. I Pulled The Cover And The Hub On The Left Side. When I Turn The Axle By Hand It Has A Ratchet Sound. Sounds In The Axle Tube But Mabey In The Carrier. Will I Need A New Carrier Or Is It Rebuildable? Can I Remove The Spider Gears And Drive Vehicle Without Four Wheel Drive? Thanks

Sounds like a wheel bearing or u-joint. If there is a problem with the ring and pinion you will have diff fluid that looks like "never seize". Pull the cover and inspect/change the fluid.

Did you pull the bearing assembly apart? Do you have the CAD system (pre 2002 MY)?

Yes I Do Have The Cad On The Axle. I Took The Vehicle In To The Shop Yesterday. Will Wait And See What Problem Is. The Fluid Was Black And Had Fine Metal In It.

Unless a bearing locks up on the carrier they can be reused and even if a bearing locks up and spins on the carrier they can be rebuilt if the person knows what they are doing.
