Hey guys, any feedback on these 2 products would be great, anybody installed the dana 60 front mag tec cover, any advice? And a review of the cam plate installs ( I know they've been covered to death). Oh by the way, I won these 2 products from Santa Piers;) .

Darn you, I was hoping Santa Piers was going to be visiting me oh well guess I can quit waiting. Can't speak to the cam plate but the cover is great. If I remember it took me about 45 minutes to install it. You have to drop the track bar (I think that was the one) to put it on but just the drivers side and it was no problem. Don't be a DA like I was I used the floor jack to raise the vehicle so I could remove the drivers side tire to get at the track bar easier (which you really probably don't need to do just turn the wheel) got done, jumped up, took a big quick step and tripped over the darn jack and did a face plant on the garge floor and broke my hand. I go inside the wife says whats wrong I tell her what happened she looks at me very of matter of factly and says thats what you get for being so excited over that #*#* truck. Several hours later the pain is too much and go to the clinic and sure enough broke it. I put a towel over the innards then used a wire brush on a drill to remove all of the old gasket material. Getting the original cover off once the bolts were out took a little persausion but it wasn't too bad. All in all a pretty easy install.

plate and front cover

I have a 96 with the TST kit although I think the plate is a #12 anyway rated at about 30HP the kit was on the truck when I bought it. the truck had good power. I moved the plate forward slightly and got even more. Boost runs about 28#. The EGT's are fine, 1000-1100. The truck has stock exaust But I took the Converter out BIG BIG HELP. Turbo spooles quicker and the EGT's came down.

Now for the front cover that I installed on my 02. Alot of this will not pertain to you but mayby someone else.

The quality is great!! Great customer service from steve at Hy Teck!!

BUT on the 02's the breather is in the cover ! Which I noticed part way through the swap. The recomendation was to utilize the the temp seding hole as a breather port. This entailed puting a baffle under that hold so the fluid would not come out. I spend alot of time and put an awsome cover/baffel under the hole, I t did nt work. So the fix that I came up with is- Mark the front of the dip stick while tight. remove and drill the dip stick in the center of the allen recess (dont hit walls) about 1 1/4" deep. and then in line with the center mark cross drill from one side. the breather hose will slip over the knurled portion of the dip stick and hose clamp. It is a slight inconveniece to check oil but the only option on a 2002 front end.

#11 a great problem free plate (in stock posistion)

You get a very noticeable gain from a #11 plate. Keep it in the stock position (if no gauges) or if you do not want to deal with EGT or clutch issues. Slide AFC housing 3/4 forward, adjust AFC wheel for what ever smoke you can stand.

You will like it.
