How much of an advantage, if any, is it to have the front locked while sledpulling ? I am contemplating an ARB locker up front.

I would say the reasoning is so that you have 4 wheels pulling rather than just 3. With an open axle the wheel that will spin easier spins, the wheel with the most traction is just rolling along. With both wheels spinning you are assured the most traction you can get. Dean
I have talked to a few other experienced sled pullers about this same issue. From what i found the only advantage to going to the lockers was to stop breakage of ring and pinion gears.

HOLESHOT,If you're asking me about the OEM axle rules. Our rules for Superstock say we can only run a one ton driveline or less, however the H-130 was stock in some of the 1 ton chevys in the late '40's thru '71 . Of course they were also used in heavier applications (the gray area of the rules). The H-110 is pretty much the same axle. Most of them we found have a 6. 17 ratio, and we have" LINCOLN LOCKERS" in them.![]()
