I'm looking for some info on what style of D60 is used in the 1st gen trucks. Is it a kingpin or balljoint axle? Is there a CAD? Are the front hub bearings like the older style axles, or do these have the unitized POS bearing like the 94+ trucks do?

Reason I'm asking is I want a D60 to swap in to my 75 powerwagon I just bought for a trail truck, and I found a 92 d60 w/ 3. 54's close by for a decent price.

kingpin or balljoint axle

Our trucks use ball joints. The model of the axles for Dodge are Model 61's.

Is there a CAD

No our trucks use the old style lockout hubs. :D

We use the older style bearings wtih lock nuts on them.

That axle should go into your power wagon with the least amount of hassle.

Yes that axle should bolt right under your 75.

Make sure you get the ubolt plates with the axle.

Or you can fab some up.

But it will be a King pin style 60. The D61 has 3. 08 gears and the 60 will have 3. 54 or 4. 10s

94 and up have ball joints

Have a Great Day

wrong

92 dodge diesel has kingpin dana 60 > ( this is the axle rock crawers want ) 35 spline inners 30 spline outers!! dana 61 axles are on the newer trucks I just got one today from a 92 $800. 00

Tell us about the 75. I have one that I use for 4wheelin, and truck pulling. It has a 60F 14 bolt rear, 440 4spd. Lockrite up front, and then hopefully get a detroit for the rear to replace the junk LS. I have some old truck parts let me know if you need something.

It's a 75 power wagon adventurer sport 360 hi-po 4bbl carb, 727/203. The floor pans both have rust in them, but other than that the rest of the truck is almost spotless, except for a little mild surface rust here and there.

Right now I have the seats out of it and I'm cleaning up the floorboards preparing for the cancer surgery ;).

I just ordered a 3" body lift, and borgeson shaft, and I'm going to go w/ 6" springs up front, and a shackle flip in the rear, and I'll prolly have to cut the fenders some.

Needs new seats, prolly a chevy bench I have from another truck, ripping out the A/C and converting the compressor to on board air. Hopefully a D60 front here soon and crossover steering with possibly hydro assist.

Then later off, prolly bob the bed, rock sliders, cage, all that good stuff.

I basically bought it because I wanted a trail truck and had a set of almost brand new 38" ground hawgs off of my 98 that I needed to use

I got my crossover setup from Spider Customs. Had the arms, and then I made the crossover link using DOM and their threaded inserts. I have a 4" pitman arm that is near new with just a little trail time. It was too much drop for the 4" lift kit. The driver side spring would come up and contact the pitman arm. I went with the 2. 5" drop, then I had to cut the crossmember under the engine, cause when the truck was flexed up the crossover hit it. I just cut a hole about 3" wide about 10" or so long so the crossover would not rub. I got enough stuff to do the high steer too, but can't use it right now. I would have to make another crossmember that hugged the engine better. I will keep the high steer stuff and put it on my 90 when I start making it for off road use. Would you be interested in the 4" drop pitman arm? My 75 has a later steering box. Does yours have the old style where the pitman hangs down from the side of the box and swings forward and back?

Michael

I've got the style that hangs from the side of the box.

If the pitman will work, I may be interested once I get the details worked out.
