Competition Lots of upgrades and no go!!!

Competition Pretty is as pretty does

I tried to get a locker for the front Dana 60. Having trouble with the spline count. Any one know if the count is 30 or 35 or 32. The people doing the work on the truck say it is 32 spline and the Detroit Electrac will only work with 35 spline. They say Dodge is the only one that uses 32 spline is this true?

I believe so, but I think you can have the dealer or some gear set place look up your axle serial number and let you know. I am pretty sure your right though, 32 spline rings a bell and I think that is what I was told mine is as well.

All Dana 60s have differnet spline counts though, so I would definately check before purchasing. You want a selectable locker for the front though as a basic Detroit will not work due to the hubs design on these Dodge front axles.

JGheen, thanks for your reply. ARB is a option that will work with the 32 spline. My only concern is the moisture that might build up in the air lines. The truck spends all winter at 8500 feet, lots of snow and cold.

If you lived in Alabama or Mississippi or some place that sees a lot of humidity then I would be somewhat concernec with that, but you live in Nevada where the humidity gets rarely high, even at 8500' the air is too thin to get up to like 80% humidity. I wouldn't worry at all about mositure getting in the lines, the air system is sealed. Besides I have never heard of anyone having that kind of issue or let alone any issue with the ARB. I hear they are pretty reliable.
