I have a 1993 dodge with a dana 70 without limited slip. so even on wet grass i have traction problems. Is there any COST effective way to add a locker to this axle?

I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of lockers and limited slips for 70's, you'd just have to look around or go to your local 4wd shop. I'm not sure how much your willing to spend though, my pickup came with a limited slip in it, no traction problems here.

I went with the detroit locker when my ring and pinion broke last time. It got some shrapnel in the carrier bearing and spun the race, ruining the carrier so it had to be replaced anyway. IMHO the detroit is the best way to go for the rearend. I called around for price and Randys ring and pinion had the best.

The newer detroits are quieter and dont seem to jerk/pop like I remember the old ones did.

YOU will love the traction, there is nothing better than a good locker!!

i have a lock right in the front of my jeep, it works great there, i don't think it would hold up to a CTD, though. I bet if you dig hard enough in the local yards, you could come up with a LS from a factory axle, new clutches are prety reasonable for them.
