Would their be a direct replacement or would their be a lot of converting? I have drum brakes now and would like disc brakes. Do the 2500 wheels fit the 3500 studs? Are the axle lengths different? Any input would be helpful. Thanks, Chas.

dana 80/70 differences

seems that I read about the axle tube being shorter on the 3500's.

Why not get a Dana 80 out of a 2500? They came stock with the 5sp or 6sp transmission

csutton, just converted his rig over from a dana 70 to the dana 80 from a 2500. I believe he said you would need a spacer in order to use the 3500 version. He might be able to enlighten you more when he stumbles across this post.

Scott,

Thanks BBD, BV

I forgot about the standard trannys being Dana 80. I wonder what the cost is for the 80? maybe a junk jard might have one... . :D
