Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dana 80 limited slip or locker?

I'm having a serious problem after installing my new HTT62/12. Traction! and some sideways FUN! Can you guys help me with some Posi options, and some feedback on what you guys using. I was thinking a locker, but i've heard the detroit lockers ratchet and bang around turns. Is this true? I seen ARB makes an air locker(nice to disengage in the rain,snow) But will it hold up to 1000lb of torque. Will a limited slip unit be OK? Where would be a good place to purchase something? Any help is apprecieated! This is not a tow truck,it's a daily driver race truck :-laf but i don't want to exclude the option of hooking something to it though!

Yes Detroits rachet and BANG on occasion, however its worth it to have the relief of knowing there's no more spider gears to worry about!

Detroit Lockers aren't bad to deal with regarding harshness of locking and unlocking, especially with long wheelbases. I have one in a 115" wheelbase car and you can notice it on occasion, but not objectionable even there. They are very strong, reliable, long lasting. You don't use limited slip additive with them. I prefer the Detroit to air lockers. The latter are either fully locked or unlocked and you have to choose manually. The Detroit thinks for you and does well at it.

I had the stock Trac-Lok for 115,00 miles then I switched to a Detroit Locker. It is a huge difference. It will do exactly what you want it do. If you get on it going around a corner it will swing you around, but if you are sensible and dont drive like an idiot all of the time then you wont get into trouble. It is very predictable. The problem I had with the Trac-Lok was that it was not predictable. I strongly recommend the Detroit.
