I managed to break the yoke on my 80 at terre haute's pull last night.

Just wondering if that is a weak spot/common problem?

Also is there a upgrade besides going back to dana oem?

If there is a plus side to this at least it held on long enough to win, well thats what i tried to convince the wife of anyway.

where did it break? Did one of the straps or bolts let go? I have not heard of much trouble with these and don't know of anything better but I wonder if a person could drill the bolt holes out and install u-bolts rather then the little straps?

There are companies making billet steel replacements for drag racing. Mark Williams Enterprises is one. Ace Racing is another. I don't know if they make them for the D80 as that isn't much used in drags, but you can do a search on the 'net.

don't know if this will help ...

i was having problems with my straps stretching so i moved up a size on everything ...

these use the stock pinion seal but larger yoke and u-joint

spicer # 3-28-507 tube yoke for your stock driveshaft

spicer # 3-4-11281-1X end yoke for the 80

napa 230-0188 u-joint

neapco 1-0021 strap kit

this is what i'm running and it solved all my problems

hope this helps
