it was my understanding there was 3 different widths used.



A 2500, a 3500 cab a chassis, narrow, and a 3500 dually bed, wide.

No idea if thats true, or what the measurements are.
 
Gene is correct, Cab and chassis rear has tires in aabout 1. 5 inches per side over a SRW 80. DRW 80 has wheels out about 1. 5-2inches over the SRW Dana 80
 
when i switched my srw 70 out the differences we found were that the cab and chassis was 2 inches narrower than the SRW and that the regular drw axle was 2 inches wider ...



these were measured from the surface where the rim contacts the axle ...



all three laying on the floor side by side ... with the "looks about right" meathod



the 80 i put in my truck had the shock mount on the passenger on the rear of the axle and my '01 truck had it on the front
