From what I can see it does look like a posi diff. Look on the right side, there is the little clutch pack keeper sticking up.

Are you for sure its for an 80? The guy selling doesn't really know. I am not sure of the late model trucks, was a 70 for the gassers, or did all the 2500 get 80's in 2000? I know it looks way differnt then the trac lok in my 70 rear, I have never been into an 80 yet.



If it indeed fits an 80 and is a ls, my brother needs one for his 94, but can't justify a new one, and is tired of one leggin it all the time . Guess they are pretty expensive.

2500 with auto is Dana 70, with stick, Dana 80. Almost all 70's are Power-Loc. Some lucky one's got a Power-Loc in the Dana 80, but most are Trac-Loc.



One on e-Bay is a one piece case with only 2 spiders. A Trac-Loc has a two piece case with 4 spiders and bolts together like this:
